Looking for an alternative to your photo booth software?
dslrBooth, LumaBooth, Breeze Booth, Sparkbooth — good programs whose limits operators still run into eventually: the price per device, a missing portal for the day after, the question of where the guest photos sit. BoothDock is built by someone who rents out photo booths. What we do differently is in the tables below, not in promises.
What's already built into BoothDock.

What runs where?
The same software, the same interface, the same Hub connection — but not every platform can do the same today. Rather than hide it, it is laid out here in a table.

Printing in detail: AirPrint, DNP driver, WCM adapter
As of 5 October 2026. iPad, iPhone and Mac share one App Store listing (iPadOS/iOS 17 or macOS 14 or later); on the Mac a native Mac app runs. Since version 1.4.0 (5 October 2026) the iPad does 360° and the local API, Sony films there over the cable just like Canon (except for a few Sony bodies that do not hand out their videos), and the app also runs on iPhone. System cameras on the Mac use the same code as on the iPad; a test with a real camera is still pending there. 360° and the local API are in preparation for the Mac, and the Mac version of 1.4.0 is in review at Apple; we do not name a date.
The key answers for photo booth operators, photographers and event pros.
What is BoothDock?
BoothDock is photo booth software from Germany: BoothDock Studio runs the photo booth right at the event (offline-proof), and the BoothDock Hub takes over afterwards in the cloud for event preparation, upload sync and customer galleries.
How much does BoothDock cost?
Three plans, one price per box: Free to try it out (1 box, watermark). Pro from €14/month on the annual plan (2 boxes included), each additional box €7/month, up to 50 boxes. Storage is pooled per account: 150 GB per box up to 10 boxes, 100 GB per box up to 50 boxes, then 50 GB per box – expandable with storage packages. Business from 51 boxes on request: payment by invoice, personal point of contact, custom contract term. You can start for free, no credit card required.
Does BoothDock work offline?
Yes. BoothDock Studio runs fully offline on the event PC – up to 30 days without internet. Once a connection is available again, it automatically syncs the captures with the Hub.
Is BoothDock GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Data processing and hosting run in the EU, a prepared data processing agreement is available, and guest galleries are private via QR code. This level of data protection also benefits customers outside the EU.
What hardware do I need?
A Windows PC or an iPad for BoothDock Studio, a camera and optionally a photo printer. On Windows, 154 bodies from Nikon, Canon and Sony run on a cable, plus any webcam. On the iPad it is the iPad camera, USB webcams, and Canon and Sony by USB cable — Nikon is not recognised there. BoothDock is the software; you bring the photo booth hardware yourself.
Does BoothDock also run on the iPad?
Yes. BoothDock Studio has been on the App Store since 30 September 2026 — for iPadOS 17 or later, and since version 1.4.0 (5 October 2026) also for iPhone (iOS 17 or later). Canon and Sony system cameras connect to the iPad directly by USB cable, with live view and shutter release from the app; you set aperture, shutter speed, ISO and white balance in the app. Plus background removal without a green screen, GIF, boomerang and video, since 1.4.0 also 360° with slow motion, your own colour looks and the local API, printing without a dialog via AirPrint (DNP printers via the WCM adapter), sharing by QR code, email and AirDrop — and the Hub as usual, since version 1.3.0 with remote maintenance too: in the Hub you see and operate the iPad remotely. The same app is also available as a native Mac app in the same App Store listing (macOS 14 or later).
What is the difference between Studio, Hub and Gallery?
BoothDock Studio is the local desktop app at the event (capture, layout, printing). The BoothDock Hub is the cloud portal for preparation, live status and sync. BoothDock Gallery is the private QR gallery your guests use to get their photos.
